Our aim in the Science department is to inspire our students to want to find out more about the Science behind how our world works. Through inspirational teaching we aim to help students fulfil their potential and achieve success with us at The Roundhill Academy.

The Science department consists of 8 Science teachers from a range of Scientific backgrounds in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Teaching at Key stage 3 level is focussed on developing both scientific knowledge and enquiry skills in students, with the aim of giving them a firm grounding in preparation for GCSE. Science outside the classroom and learning through experimentation is encouraged with students given the opportunity to engage in fieldwork visits in both year 7 and 8.

At Key stage 4 the latest educational theory has been utilised in order to provide a GCSE course for students through which they can excel. with teachers capable of delivering all areas of the science curriculum, this ensures a challenging environment for students to push themselves to achieve the best they possibly can. A separate sciences GCSE is available to students at Key stage 4 where appropriate.
